Eesean Bolden
As an A&R Executive Eesean is responsible for identifying, developing and bringing new talent to the record label. A native of Sacramento, CA, Eesean’s passion for music began at an early age as the son of a member of an R&B group who went on to have regional success in the early 90s.
His journey in the music business began as an intern at Interscope records in the A&R department while pursuing a Business Management degree at Sacramento State University. After two years of learning the ins & outs of the business, Eesean was hired in the legal department at Universal Music Group. Always exercising his creativity and knowledge of music, he connected with high-level A&R executives across multiple labels and began scouting talent for them. His hustle paid off when he was hired on as a A&R Rep at Capitol Records in 2011. Eesean currently serves as Vice President of A&R for Warner Bros. Records
Eesean has gone on to sign several notable acts, including 2x GRAMMY Nominee Mary Lambert, who co-wrote and was featured on Mackemore’s multi-platinum viral hit “Same Love,” and garnered a Gold single for her critically acclaimed anthem “Secrets;”
In early 2015 he signed viral phenomenon Silento, whose hit single “Watch Me” has sold over 4 million units worldwide and reached over 200 million views on YouTube in just two months.
During his time as an A&R, Eesean has focused on the viral side of music –
“paying close attention to what’s happening virally, identifying opportunities
and applying proper development is a skillset needed now more than ever in A&R,” he says. He has fine-tuned this philosophy that has paid off since starting off as an intern 10 years ago. He looks forward to bringing in the new era of stars to the label that are not only talented musically, but open to understanding how to use the digital world to their advantage.
